UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd sold 108,107 units so far in 2023, ending the year on a high note. With 101,035 units sold, this is a 7% increase in cumulative sales over 2022.
The company reported 10,402 total sales in December 2023, consisting of 10,079 Toyota and 323 Lexus automobiles. In the aftersales division, UMWT reported 1,342,130 returning customers in 2023, which was another reason for joy.
"We continue to work toward providing our Toyota vehicles with an enhanced mobility experience and expanding ownership opportunities for prospective clients," stated Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT.
After practically completely reimagining its lineup with new cars for the Malaysian market, 2023 was a momentous year for UMWT. With the release of GR models including the GR86, GR Corolla, GR Hilux, GR Corolla Cross, and the manual Supra, the year got off to a great start.
The all-new Toyota Vios, the upgraded Yaris, the Corolla GR Sport, and the all-new Innova Zenix came next, and in October, the all-new Alphard completed the lineup. Toyota is teasing more in the early days of the new year, particularly with regard to electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
"As we look forward to 2024, our focus will be on introducing more models, particularly with an emphasis on xEV technologies," stated Datuk Ravindran K.
