Honda Malaysia announced the official opening of pre-orders for the Honda WR-V in the local market. Despite being positioned as an A-Segment SUV, this vehicle is equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC naturally aspirated engine and comes with almost the full suite of Honda Sensing advanced safety features. Overall, it boasts a strong competitive edge in the market!

This model is built on the platform of the Honda Jazz, and its exterior design doesn't have any striking features. Additionally, it has not been introduced to the Malaysian market. However, the latest generation of this model is entirely different. It has a larger body size compared to the previous generation, measuring at 4,060 mm x 1,608 mm x 1,780 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,485 mm. Moreover, it comes equipped with a rich set of features, including 6 airbags as standard and almost the complete Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety features. Essentially, it has been developed as a new car to meet the current SUV trend in the market.

In terms of power, this vehicle is equipped with the same DOHC i-VTEC naturally aspirated engine found in the City model. It has a maximum power output of 119 Hp (121 PS) and a peak torque of 145 Nm. Among the A-Segment SUVs in our country, this power performance is the strongest in its class.

In terms of exterior design, this vehicle features a large grille with chrome accents in a dotted pattern. It also has full LED headlights with sequential turn signals. The lower section of the front bumper is adorned with a silver skid plate, while the bumper, side skirts, and wheel arches are made of black plastic material for added scratch resistance. These elements give it a crossover-like appearance. Additionally, the car showcases a dual-tone floating roof design and 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear end features a spoiler on the roof and a sporty-styled bumper. Overall, the design exudes a sporty aesthetic.

Moving on to the interior, the design of this vehicle leans towards a practical style. It features two analog gauges with a 4.2-inch color display in the middle. The infotainment system is an 8-inch unit that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car is equipped with six speakers from the factory. The center console and door panels are adorned with soft-touch plastic and fabric, creating a visually pleasing multi-layered effect.

Furthermore, this vehicle offers excellent safety features. With 6 airbags and almost the complete suite of Honda Sensing advanced safety technologies, it has achieved a 5-star rating in ASEAN NCAP's crash tests. Its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features include ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) with automatic emergency braking, LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System), RDM (Road Departure Mitigation) with lane departure warning, LDW (Lane Departure Warning), and AHB (Automatic High Beam).
